Fellows Formation Program

Fellows Formation Program

Fellows engage in a two-year formation program led by Senior Fellows of the Boethius Institute. The program includes annual symposia, online courses in each of the liberal arts, and small group mentoring. The cost of the program is $2500 per year, which includes all expenses except travel.

The inaugural Formation Program began in August of 2023 with a Symposium on The Consolation of Philosophy hosted by the Center for Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. Courses in the 2023-24 academic year included Principles of Latin Grammar, Aristotelian Logic, Rhetoric, and Geometry. Courses in 24-25 include introductions to each of the remaining Quadrivial Arts – Arithmetic, Astronomy, and Music – and conclude with a course on the life of learning in the light of wisdom. Our next cohort will start in August 2025 with a symposium on Plato's Republic.

Fellows will contribute to the work of the Boethius Institute through blogging about their experience, and by preparing in collaboration with a Senior Fellow a contribution in writing or speaking to the advancement of the educational renewal.
