Oxford Summer Programme

July 27 - August 5

Application Deadline February 1

Visit Harry Potter filming locations. Explore the culture of Oxford with your friends. Study the literature of C.S. Lewis with Visiting Faculty from the University of Oxford in the morning. Punt on the River Cherwell after lunch. Unwind over dinner before heading to the theatre for a world-class performance of Shakespeare. In Oxford, every day is an adventure.

Portsmouth Abbey’s Oxford Summer Programme invites students to embark on a pilgrimage of learning and adventure in the “city of dreaming spires.” Learning among close friends and teachers, students will explore the vibrant and historic culture of Oxford among friends, take pilgrimages to ancient churches, visit famous locations of film and story, punt on the River Cherwell, and grow in friendship through a shared experience of learning and adventure. Guest lectures by visiting professors from Oxford will give students an opportunity to experience collegiate life at one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world, reading great works of English literature in daily seminars with program faculty.

In addition to exploring Oxford, you’ll take a day trip to London to visit the famed National Gallery, grab a fantastic lunch, and take a private, behind-the-scenes tour of Westminster Abbey. Students will live and study at St Edmund’s (Teddy) Hall at the University of Oxford.

Students will come home not only having learned and explored a great city—but will have been transformed by the experience of Oxford.
